  2. This one has a wonderfully disturbing quality. The scale too is disturbing.

  3. What I mean about the scale is that it "should" look like a detail; it should look too cropped. But it does not. What a strange image. So almost aggressive, even hinting at violence. But you mix speeds here, if not literally, at least in effect: The bottom edge is slow(ish); the green is part slow, part quick; the black, of course is fast; and the white feels like (don't know if it is) like the unpainted support -- all this combining to give everything a peculiar accidental immediacy not really associated with painting, but more a found object, or bunch of found marks, in this case. And yet, we know it is a painting....

    Quite a triumph, is what I am trying to say.
